Company background
Founded in 2004, AE brings together expertise in IFRS, new UK GAAP (FRS101 and FRS102), management reporting, finance systems optimisation, change management, business process design and corporate governance.
We help our clients navigate smooth IFRS transitions including those prior to an IPO, working capital modelling and the design and documentation of financial policies and procedures.
We also provide on-going finance function services for (mostly) AIM-listed and companies funded by private equity as well as project capabilities, particularly in relation to expanding businesses (both in the UK and internationally) and optimising the finance function’s role within the organisation.
Our clients are from a broad range of industry sectors including technology; bio-technology; natural resources; manufacturing; media; and others.
AE focuses on using technical expertise and commercial experience to deliver pragmatic solutions. We work in close collaboration with our clients’ audit firms to ensure a smooth and efficient reporting process, good communication and timely delivery.
Flexible solutions
We provide outstanding client service and actively promote flexible working within our team, this allows us to respond to the needs of a global 24-7 working culture and to quickly resource urgent client projects.
Many of our clients start with a small project and then return regularly as their business grows or faces challenges such as loss of key finance team members or intense change including rapid expansion, restructures, funding rounds, exits and mergers or acquisitions.
We also collaborate with several major audit firms to address challenges for their clients which they are not able to assist with due to conflict of interest, resource constraints or need for highly specialised financial reporting.
We embrace secure cloud technologies & flexi-resourcing to maximise working efficiency and meet tight reporting deadlines.

Why we encourage all AE staff to hold charitable and trustee status
We believe strongly that both charity / trustee work and participation in mentoring programme is an essential part of our professional development. Currently our Director, Anne Ovens is a trustee for Break Charity and involved in Institute of Directors (IoD) mentoring programmes. Other members of the team are actively involved in charity work and school governance.
